Top 10 Finland Nature and Outdoor Creators + Free Checklist
A photograph of a snowy forest or the northern lights can create interest in Finland. A brand also needs to explain where a visitor can stay, how an experience begins and what remains worthwhile when the weather changes. Decide whether the brief needs wildlife observation, outdoor activity, artistic imagery or timelapse film before building a shortlist.
This editorial selection brings together ten named creators with documented connections to Finland through their work or portfolios. It is intended for hotels, destinations, outdoor brands and experience operators. A portfolio demonstrates a creative direction; it does not confirm availability, pricing, willingness to collaborate or commercial results. Verified personal websites and official work links are provided as references, not embedded posts. Portraits and work images are not reproduced.

1. Konsta Punkka | Wildlife stories / outdoor equipment
Konsta's own website describes his wildlife, outdoor and commercial photography and longstanding connection to Finland. Samsung's 12 April 2024 feature documents his field photography and editing workflow for the Galaxy Book4 campaign. This is an existing brand case, not an Allua commission.

Work reference: Samsung Galaxy Book4(2024) | https://news.samsung.com/global/interview-editing-photos-in-the-forest-photographer-konsta-punkka-talks-about-his-creative-process-with-the-galaxy-book4
Collaboration concept (proposal): A travel brand could propose a field-to-image story linking its accommodation base, preparation and nature observation. Agree on an alternative story when wildlife does not appear; never promise an encounter.
2. Ossi Saarinen | Nature stays / observation experiences
Ossi's website identifies him as a wildlife photographer and filmmaker from Finland. His print Sleeping beauty depicts a fox cub photographed in Finland in 2018. It supports a wildlife-observation angle, but should not be presented as a winter campaign.

Instagram: @soosseli
Work reference: Sleeping beauty | https://www.soosseli.com/prints/p/sleeping-beauty
Collaboration concept (proposal): A nature lodge could propose a quiet-observation photo story with information on keeping a respectful distance. Confirm capture methods and usage permissions first; buying a physical print does not confer advertising reuse rights.
3. Mikko Lagerstedt | Boutique hotels / night imagery
Mikko is a Finnish photographer whose website centres on northern landscapes at night and in winter. Edge features stars, aurora and coastal darkness. His site also lists art for hotels, commissions and licensing. An artwork does not establish that a particular property can guarantee the same view.

Instagram: @mikkolagerstedt
Work reference: Edge | https://www.mikkolagerstedt.com/edge/
Collaboration concept (proposal): A boutique hotel could propose a night-themed visual package, separating room atmosphere from outdoor dark-sky scenes. State locations and processing methods in commercial use, and negotiate rights for interiors, websites and advertising separately.
4. Joni Niemelä | Resorts / seasonal image libraries
Joni's biography places him in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland, and describes his interest in colour and digital processing. Winter Vistas gathers Finnish winter landscapes photographed over several years. His separate projects include 3D experimentation; techniques from different series should not be conflated.

Portfolio platform: Joni Niemelä's own website | https://joniniemela.com/
Work reference: Winter Vistas | https://joniniemela.com/galleries/winter-vistas/
Collaboration concept (proposal): A resort could propose a visual sequence connecting snow, tree shadows and interior materials, with a colour reference agreed first. The brief should distinguish capture, grading and compositing so artistic treatment does not imply a guaranteed guest view.
5. Tiina Törmänen | Cultural stays / artistic storytelling
Tiina is a Finnish fine-art photographer working across northern forests, highlands and underwater environments. Her own About page presents Wanderer and describes her northern nature photography. Cultural stays can use her approach to space, light and environmental scale as a reference for creating atmosphere.

Instagram: @tiinautti
Work reference: Wanderer (artist's About page) | https://www.tiinatormanen.com/about
Collaboration concept (proposal): A cultural stay could propose a seasonal story combining images with short interpretive text. Underwater or remote-location production needs separate professional planning and feasibility checks; it should not be framed as an activity every guest can replicate.
6. Julia Kivelä | Destinations / stay-based guides
Julia is a Finland-based travel and commercial photographer who moved to Finland in 2011. Visit Finland's winter-photography feature presents her images and location insights, including Iso-Syöte and Riisitunturi, connecting destination scenery with locations a visitor can understand.

Instagram: @julia_kivela
Work reference: Visit Finland winter photography locations | https://www.visitfinland.com/en/articles/best-locations-for-winter-photography-finland/
Collaboration concept (proposal): A destination could propose a photography walk starting from accommodation, with a practical transport route, shooting window and weather alternative. Check current local access and conditions separately rather than copying itinerary details from an older feature.
7. Riku Karjalainen | Destination films / timelapse
Riku is a Finland-based freelance filmmaker specialising in timelapse. His 2021 film The Winter I Knew documents the Finnish winter; its official project page provides a film link and information about licensing footage in 4K and 8K. It offers a reference for seasonal rhythm and destination storytelling.

Work reference: The Winter I Knew (2021) | https://www.rikukarjalainen.com/portfolio-item/the-winter-i-knew/
Collaboration concept (proposal): A destination brand could propose a day-to-night film from one location, translating long observation into an understandable seasonal rhythm. Separate shooting days, weather contingencies, edit versions and advertising rights in the budget.
8. Matti Seppänen | City hotels / nearby nature
Visit Finland credits Matti Seppänen and @polar.visions for an image made during a snowy walk in Oulu. Matti's own website describes photography, filmmaking and brand work. This approach to nature near a city gives hotels a way to introduce experiences beyond their rooms.
Official source: https://www.mattiseppanen.com/about
Instagram: @polar.visions
Work reference: Visit Finland, snowy walk in Oulu | https://www.visitfinland.com/en/articles/epic-photos-finland-by-night/
Collaboration concept (proposal): A city hotel could propose a half-day visual story from the centre to nearby nature, connecting winter atmosphere with a usable experience. Add arrival information and an equipment list; do not promise fixed weather or light.
9. Harri Tarvainen | Outdoor clothing / active experiences
Halti's official feature dated 9 September 2024 introduces Harri as an outdoor photographer, art director and ambassador from Oulu, Finland. Visit Finland separately credits his Riisitunturi night image, connecting natural surroundings with outdoor activity.

Instagram: @harritarvainen
Work reference: Visit Finland, Riisitunturi at night | https://www.visitfinland.com/en/articles/epic-photos-finland-by-night/
Collaboration concept (proposal): An outdoor clothing or experience brand could propose a before-and-after journey covering preparation, activity and rest. For dog-related content, confirm venue conditions and the activity plan instead of adding an animal solely for the image.
10. Terhi Tuovinen | Nature stays / local environment stories
Terhi is a photographer, content creator and visual artist from Finnish Lapland. Her website presents a long-term project documenting changes in Lapland's environment and offers photography, licensing and social-content services. Her local observation provides a reference for stories about nature stays.
Official source: https://terhituovinen.com/
Instagram: @terhituovinen
Work reference: Observing the ever-changing nature of Lapland | https://terhituovinen.com/
Collaboration concept (proposal): A nature stay could propose a seasonal story grounded in local observation, separating the creator's documentation, the brand's actions and future commitments. Any environmental performance claim needs specific evidence from the brand; landscape photography is not a substitute.
A practical brand brief
Objective and audience: choose one primary aim, such as awareness, accommodation enquiries or experience bookings. Specify market, language and travel stage. A creator's location does not establish the location of their audience.
Deliverables: an example package could include one 30–45-second vertical film, a six-image carousel and three Stories. This is a proposal, not a standard package offered by these creators. Specify captions, cover, alternative text and landscape crops separately.
Scenes and contingency: distinguish accommodation and activities the brand can arrange from weather or wildlife it cannot guarantee. Agree on alternatives for a lack of snow or aurora and transport disruption. Check current local access separately.
Facts and review: supply accurate room and activity information and genuine reference images. Separate factual corrections from creative preferences and agree on one consolidated feedback round. Identify composites, archive material and footage made elsewhere.
Rights and costs: separate creation fees, travel, accommodation, weather days, usage period, territory, media, paid advertising and re-editing. A social post should not be treated as automatic permission for permanent brand use.
Measurement: give each creator a distinct UTM and track available outcomes such as visits, qualified enquiries and bookings. Agree on reporting dates and screenshots. Likes alone do not demonstrate sales.
Free checklist: start with the general and Instagram sections
Use the existing editable Word checklist in English or Traditional Chinese. Each version has eight pages and 60 checks: 12 general items plus eight items for each of six platforms. For a carousel, Reel or Stories brief, begin with the general and Instagram sections; add the YouTube section for a long-form film. This is not a Finland itinerary, creator rate card or licence agreement. Use the gold button and complete the email, purpose and required subscription consent fields to receive both language Word download links by email.
For a Finland travel campaign, use link checks to confirm the correct language-specific room or experience page; image checks for vertical safe areas and snow detail; fact checks for season and activity conditions; and rights checks for website or advertising reuse. Do not promise northern lights as a guaranteed outcome.

FAQ
Are these Finland's ten most-followed creators?
No. This is an editorial selection based on documented work and relevance to travel-brand briefs. It is not a follower ranking of every account.
Must the collaboration run on Instagram?
No. The references span several platforms. An Instagram brief still needs confirmation of the creator's account, recent formats, audience information and delivery feasibility.
Does every example show winter travel?
No. The scope includes nature and outdoor imagery. Distinguish winter, night and non-winter references; Ossi's fox-cub print should not be described as a winter campaign.
Can a brand reuse the referenced photographs in advertising?
Public visibility does not establish reuse permission. Obtain rights for the intended media, period, territory and edits. The article supplies work-reference links only.
How should a brand estimate a budget?
Request an itemised proposal covering deliverables, production difficulty, weather contingencies, travel, accommodation and usage rights. No unverified creator rates are supplied here.
Does the checklist provide a Finland itinerary or guarantee results?
No. It supports pre-publication checks across six platforms. It does not replace local arrangements, permission checks or campaign evaluation.
